Phoenix Housing Market Improving - OCTOBER 2008
October 22nd, 2008 11:20 AM

The housing market in the Phoenx area seems to be improving. Yes, I do believe that it's true, despite all the doom and gloom in the media.  Undoubtedly, the last year or so has been extremely rough for the housing market.  Phoenix was one of the hardest hit areas by far, along with Las Vegas and a couple of others.  Slowly, however, I see the market improving.  At this time last year, we had about 5,000 more homes for sale on the market and about half as many homes sold during the month of September 2007 compared to September 2008.  I would say that it is a big improvement from just a year ago. Still, housing prices dropped by quite a bit from last year to now, which could account for part of the change in statistics. Some people may have chosen just not to sell their home at this time due to the low prices.  More people are buying, also due to the low prices. Regardless of the "why," I'm just glad to see the improvement. I just hope it can continue to improve, despite the ups and downs of the stock market and the recent tightening on credit application requirements.

In conclusion, I would say that NOW IS A GOOD TIME TO BUY (especially for investors and people currently renting). The prices haven't been this low in a long time. If you would like to talk to me or my partner, Bonnie, about buying a home, please call, email, or fill out the "contact us" request.
Thanks and have a GREAT day!!!!
